On the Road in France: Preparing the UBC Tour

Last week, the Maison du Volley team travelled through France to prepare the upcoming University of British Columbia Volleyball European Tour — visiting clubs, meeting coaches and partners, walking the facilities, and working through every detail of the experience before a single player arrives.

Paris. Tours. Poitiers. Three cities, three clubs, three sets of conversations that don't happen over email — sitting down with coaches, seeing the gyms UBC will actually train in, and making sure every logistical detail is settled well before January.

It's the part of the job that never makes it into a programme page, but it's the part that makes the difference. Maison du Volley doesn't simply organise volleyball trips — every experience is built through real relationships with the people and clubs who make European volleyball what it is. That only happens by showing up in person, well ahead of time.

UBC's men's team arrives on 1 January 2027 for nine days of training and matches against Paris Volley, Tours, and Poitiers — full details on the Volleyball Tours page. For now: the groundwork is done, the partners are confirmed, and the courts are ready.

UBC, we're getting ready for you.
